A Botany Trek to Doi Pahom Phog: 2‑Day High‑Altitude Forest & Flora Exploration

Day 1 – Ascent Through Virgin Forest

After early breakfast, travel 3 hours by 4WD to a forestry station halfway up the mountain.
Picnic lunch at the base station.
Trek with guide, forest ranger, and porters through virgin forest and forestry sub‑station trails.
Encounter rare high‑altitude flowers, evergreen forest at 1500m, moss‑covered rocks, ferns, and
species such as Fagaceae, Lauraceae, Ericaceae, and Acanthaceae.
Overnight at camp area.

Day 2 – Summit & Descent

After breakfast, ascend to the windswept plateau at 2,286m — the summit of Doi Pahom Phog.
Rest and enjoy panoramic views.
Descend via a different trail rich in birdlife and diverse flora.
Many trees originate from Burma, India, and China.
Lunch at a forestry sub‑station.
Continue descent to lower station and return by 4WD to the resort.
