Trip Description
This trip puts you right in the heart of upland Vietnam in a remote National Park set in limestone karst mountains. Ba Be means “Three Lakes” — in fact, one large lake with three sections.
Rivers flow into the lake from all directions, including one that passes through a large cave.
Early morning hikes and paddles offer wildlife sightings and sunrise vistas.
A traditional lakefront village remains so isolated that residents still speak Thai — placing you directly inside Vietnam’s Thai‑speaking hill tribe culture.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Hanoi → Ba Be
Depart your hotel in Hanoi. Visit the Hill Tribe Museum. Drive cut‑off road to Ba Be with produce shopping in a hill tribe market. Arrive at Ba Be National Park headquarters and check in. Dinner catered.
Overnight : On board
Meal : D
Day 2 – River Paddle
Optional sunrise nature walk. Breakfast catered. Paddle through marshlands and calm river sections. Picnic lunch on the stream bank. Continue paddling into the lake and take out at Park dock.

Day 3 – Lake Paddle & Hill Tribe Village
Optional sunrise lake paddle. Paddle from Park dock to a hill tribe village for lunch. Continue paddling or rendezvous with motor launch. Optional cultural visit to “Disco Ba Be.”
Overnight : Ba Be National Park
Meal : L
Day 4 – Ba Be → Hanoi
Check out and return to Hanoi. Transfer back to your hotel.
